Thanks all. I am still struggling with the clutch lever, especially in traffic queues, but hopefully the new clutch cable will make it easier.

Keith all the very best my friend. Take it easy Pet

Love, Palmina

Thanks Palmina. We are enjoying unseasonal glorious weather at the moment and just come back from a 70 mile run which included a cuppa at Rothbury. No ill effects with the clutch even though we got stuck in traffic in Morpeth. The new clutch cable has worked wonders and I am now confident I could do any distance.

You lucky boy! Oh to be out on a bike over there! I miss it. The S bends on the way to Alston...... We've got some great rides here, through the Dandenong Ranges etc but I'm not enjoying them as much on this bike. I'm afraid it may have to sit in the carport until we can sell it and we'll have to get a Yammy - I have my eye on a lovely one. A 1100cc Boy doesn't get a say in this one, he blue his last chance (Ha Ha) Still though, he does look nice sitting on the concrete polishing his Trumpy.

I'm glad you are doing o.k. Tell me what happened with the accident.

I've been lucky and only ever come off once - way back when I used to love touching the ground with my elbow - many many moons ago! We, me and my then finace Graham were doing about 5mph around a corner and the Suzi just slipped from under. Only my ankle and pride were hurt - when he cried cause his bike got scratched!

On the 25th June last year Linda and I went for a ride on our bikes. Passing through Scots Gap, just South of Rothbury, I had slowed to about 25mph because Linda had pulled into the garage for petrol and suddenly a car coming the other way started to turn across my path and I had no time to brake. I actually hit the front of his car and then flew over the top (witness statement - I don't remember anything), landing on my back. I broke my left arm and snapped a ligament in my right thumb. I had a week in hospital, followed by nearly 7 months off sick from work. The break in my arm was quite a bad one 'cos it went long ways up the bone and I ended up with 5" of meccano in my arm. I guess I am going to have fun in airports from now on - maybe I will take a copy of my "after" xray with me when I fly.

Regards to both of you, Keith

Wow, with all that gear and the shiny new bike you look like a young man again!

Glad to hear you are finding the riding fine and everything is in working order again. I just thought of you and popped over to see how things were progressing & presto, there was the answer.

skida on April 12, 2011

Thanks JF. I have been riding longer distances over the last few days and I've not had too many problems. Onwards and upwards!

Another biker, There's a lot here in Michigan.Wish I had one when I went on my photo expeditions it would make taking the shots so much easier.

It isn't easy to carry a lot of photographic gear on a bike, but the journey tends to be more fun. Thanks.
