it is a plant called elk, quoted:The easiest way to distinguish between the two types of fern is that elkhorns have many plants growing together in communities and they have smaller, slender fronds. hi polytropos, this is a part of plant that grows attached to trucks of trees or against walls its is an elk your photos is part of a fruit produced by a plant call Monstera deliciosa plant, it can take up up a year for this fruit to ripen, it is safe to eat when the kernels start to pull apart, then has a custart yet strange taste some people same it taste like alot of different fruits
