"Taubenmarie" (see description)

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

➽ Maria Schuhmann (1874-1957), was fruit dealer and moved with her handcart through the city. Because in her "entourage" were always pigeons, she was known as "Pigeon Marie"!

Очень трогательно, Dida!

Hi Borisovna,

Yes, I think that it is a beautiful keepsake!

Beautiful shot Dida, Like 3. Dublin had a similar Lady with a similar bronze statue pushing a wheel barrow, called Molly Malone. She also has a song about how she died,:-( cheers scally.

Dida(Views?No, thanx… on March 31, 2011

I knew the song, Scally, but not the statue! But I've searched and found! I think it's a bit prettier than my "Maria", but she died too soon!

Cheers from Augsburg,

Now the Irish do not stand on ceremony Dida, this statue was immediately renamed 'The Tart with the Cart' The one that springs to mind is the Statue of a horrific lady bathing in a water fall in the middle of O;Connell Street which was named 'The Floosie in the Jacuzzi', which was thought not in line with the dignity of the City and was replaced by a high column immediately christened ' the Erection at the Intersection' :=) cheers scally.

O.K. - scally - I have searched for and found the pictures and I think the "nick names" are very suitable!!! ;-D

Cheers, Dida
