The sculpture is titled "Hero's in the Sky" and is a memorial to the crew of Sheriff's helicopter STAR VI that crashed near this site. The crew, which was comprised of the Pilot, Joe Kievernagel and Tactical Flight Officer, Kevin Blount, lost their lives in the crash and the third passenger, Erik Henrikson, was severely injured. The cause of this crash was later determined to be a catastrophic engine failure.
