There is no way I can defend or condone grafitti. This wonderful, prominent and well loved monument deserves better respect. So vunerable to those without honour or wit.

Indeed, so it is ironic that I have been out and about musing similarly Russ

However your photograph of this famous graffito has unearthed all sorts on new and useless information. Did you know it was painted in 18 August 1999 for instance?

Also I now know the story of Hagley Wood!

Amazing what we get up to in the wee hours!

I didn't know that, Jethro. I had noted another recent photo with the monument shrouded in scaffolding and assumed it had recently been cleaned thus that the grafitto was new. Now the perps are older and wiser do you think they might spot this and do the right thing... pay to have it cleaned?

No way mate, they are too damn daft!

(In my ever so humble opinion).

This is the source ot the grafitto. I was completely wrong. Still think its a mess though.

THIS is the best description of what it all means so far as I have found Russ

So very interesting I think.

Greetings Russ :)

Thanks **Jethro for that fascinating link to the murder of Bella at Hagley Wood!! Strange doings indeed!!

Perhaps the truth of her untimely death is hidden deep in the annals of our national secret archives! One thing for certain, the truth will never see the light of day!

Cheers
