I've taken lots of pictures of bells, but never straight up! I like this angle!

The bells of the monastery of Panagia Spiliani (cave of the Virgin Mary). At the back of the monastery steps are leading down into a big cave with a little chapel. The monastery is perched on a hill behind the seaside town of Pythagoreion, Samos. You have also visited Greece on several occasions, Marilyn, so you know the beauty of this country. If ever I could choose a place to spend the rest of my life, it would be Samos. If you click this link, the monastery perched on the hill will appear.

Best regards, Claus

This is a great photo Claus and is very original. I really think it is worthy of a gold star :)

I'm delighted to hear that you like this picture, Amelia. Thank you very much for your praise and the gold star.

Here is the little gem of a bell tower, boasting four bells and a loudspeaker, where I have taken the photo.

Kind regards, Claus
