Really, you chose a very weird cactus, Marilyn ;-) Hope you had a nice time. Cheers, Dany

Yes, Dany, I did, but I thought there was an interesting pattern in the weird part.

It was a good trip, and gradually I'll be posting more photos, but it didn't go exactly as planned. Along the way I had a detached retina and had to have emergency eye surgery far, far from home! We only missed two days of our tour, but the eye that had surgery is still blurry, so I'm not doing much photo editing at one sitting. Cheers, Marilyn

Dear Marilyn, I enjoyed your new photos very much. This stately cactus is my favourite. Wish you a speedy recovery with your eye. All the best from The Netherlands, Jan.

Oh, Marilyn, these are bad news.I know from my friend Lia what is it, she had the same being in New York after the fly and had to wait to be home to have the operation. You will have to rest a bit, I guess. So now you have two things to recover from. Cheers, Daniela

Thank you, Jan, for your kind words and good wishes.

And Dany, I was lucky in being able to have the done surgery quickly, and also the surgeon chose the method of surgery that only required me to return for an examination the next day; beyond that it did not restrict my travel the way the other surgical method would have.

Cheers, Marilyn
