Wooden Tower In Ying County

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

Wooden Pagoda in Ying county, short for the Sakyamuni Pagoda of Fogong Temple, is located in Fogong Temple in the northwest part of Ying county, Shanxi Province.
The whole pagoda features Han and Tang dynasty architectural styles with 54 various dougong, or interlocking wooden brackets, each of which has a different shape. Together with the octagonal roof on every layer, the whole pagoda is scientifically designed and exquisitely built, which not only has national characteristics but also meets Buddhist requirements. The Ying county Wooden Pagoda is the highest and the oldest wooden tower in China.
