Beautiful Ian

I really must get a passport in order and take a trip to NZ. I've always know it was beautiful but your shot's are giving me a new hunger to see it.

The first thing that came into my mind was landscape repetition.

Now where did I get that from?

Best wishes Peter

Welcome again to New Zealand, Jeff. It was a stunning view and if you have enjoyed it then I am pleased that I have been faithful with the camera. Thanks indeed, Jeff.

You really must, Palmina. The short flight across The Ditch will reward you with much beauty and majesty. I remarked to an English couple the other day who were marvelling at their photos from the West Coast (of South Island) that "In England, majesty is confined to the Royal Family, but in New Zealand it is everywhere." They wrote that in their diary to share when they returned home. It was just a perfect summary of how they were feeling. And it opened up a good conversation that touched on the merits of both groups of islands.

May you hunger more until you are sated. And by the way, you can skydive here, tandem paraglide there, and marvel everywhere - in NZ.

That is a great compliment, Gerard and it is appreciated. Glad you enjoy the artistic in this landscape.

Warm greetings,

Ian Stehbens on April 13, 2011

Indeed, Luca. Mountains, reflections and old churches are some of your favourite things. Here in NZ there are plenty of opportunities for the mountains and reflections to be photographed but sadly quite a few of the stone churches have been destroyed by the 2 Christchurch earthquakes of late.

Thanks for the compliments.

Good morning, Peter. I wasn't sure how many willows there actually are or were so I had to forget that idea for the title, and then I didn't know whether it was legit to double the number!

Glad to share this scene with you. Next walk go looking for more repetition in the landscape.

All the best,

This is a wonderful picture with perfect reflections, Ian! I like it a lot! I sure hope the earth in Christchurch is calming down and nobody got hurt or suffered any damage!! All the best to you, Anne

Ian Stehbens on April 17, 2011

It really is a joy that you have appreciated this image, Anne. It was a very special place and a very special day.

As for the earthquake last night, we are all OK, but it comes on the trauma of the 2 big quakes in Christchurch so many people, including me were quite unsettled by the shallow quake last night. It has been quiet today.

Warmest regards,
