If you mean is this the location, it might be. The stadium was torn down, it was pretty big. I used to see it from the skyway after the old airport and the turnpike. It was there into the 50's.

Oh, okay, Thanks F RIM. I think driving by it once, someone said that was the old bears stadium. Knowing very little about the area, I think I just assumed he was talking about the new Newark Bears. I guess I also assumed that this was also the original stucture. Anyway, thanks for your comment and I will get back to your other comments when I get a chance.

This is the old Ironbound Stadium that was built in the early 70's primarily for Eastside High School which had been using Ruppert Stadium, the original Newark Bears stadium, which was located down Wilson Ave. at Ave L. That stadium was torn down in the late 60's. The Ironbound Stadium was built on a toxic waste dump and was closed I believe in the early 90's. A turf all-purpose field was added next door.
