Arch With Protruding Corner (i)

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

An optical illusion, the protruding corner seems to bulge out from the arch.

If you have the eye for it, you can see the corner protruding and you might be able to see it snap back to the interior behind the arch.

Hihi Jean, half way round the world, not the same at all, but similar (->!

Thank you, ALL, for your lovely visits and comments. I appreciate them all!

OH, Mike!, LOL! Yes, I've been looking for one since I first heard of their existence.

Marquee, Mike always has the most creative imagination and I like the way he types. :)

Button-s, You are so kind!

amoot, I am so glad you like it.

John!!!!, :-) It is, isn't it?

JB, A lot of folks have passed here, that is for sure. Don't know if I'm the first to take such a picture of this 'protruding corner', but I might be.

b.onosimocs, it is not an original thought, but I thought I'd never find one!

leon, your arch is very pretty, but has no protruding corner. I hope when you find one, that you will remember me and come to back to point it out too.

Allright Ma'am, I think I got it! Although I liked it to learn English in school (which is ages ago), although I spent one year in England (which is at least "an age" ago) and although I have had great six weeks in Canada I never learned the words for "hervorstehende Ecke " ... why not actually? There are lots of those throughout the world ... ;-)

Anyway: thanks to Jean (and Googles translator, of course) now I know about "protruding corners" and - hardly to believe- I saw it on that picture. Great one Jean( and was it Mr. Goethe who said: "You only see, what you know"?)

And you are absolutly right Jean, my arch hasn't any protruding corner, so it is NOT similar, it is completly different of yours, but I am looking forward to that day I will find one ... and you can be sure: I will be back!! ;-))

Best regards to NC.

Oh, Ho! leon! I'm glad! Do remember me and come back to show me your arch with the protruding corner.

Your English is great. I'm glad that you can see this protruding corner.

So thank you (and Google Translate) for my new tag: 'hervorstehende Ecke' that means protruding corner.

Good luck in your search for a protruding corner. If you have difficulties finding one, look for a Taco Bell restaurant and go through the drive-thru. :-) (They seem to be all around the world now.)

Good luck! Jean :-)
