Constructed in 1927, the Masonic Temple was the tallest building in downtown Silver Spring when completed. The ground floor originally housed a Chevrolet and Nash automobile showroom, and the Silver Spring Masonic Lodge No. 215 occupied the upper floors. The building featured a cornerstone, now buried under a 1999 facade renovation.
