Te słupy mają swój nie powtarzalny design. Zauważyłem że tego rodzaju obiektów w Finlandii jest więcej.

Pozdrawiam Michał.

I Like-1 this very nice photo dear friend!!

Greetings and best wishes from Greece-Piraeus.

Thank you for your visits and compliments,'

There are 5 of these transmission line pylons designed by the Finnish designer Antti Nurmesniemi here that are also called "Antti's steps". Old pylons were replaced with ones that are better suited for this very visible place.

Best wishes, Timo

Howdy tmoj - looks like the wires are sagging a little too close to the ground - designed to reduce the catenary effect on the tower ?

tmoj on April 19, 2011

Thanks Waldo,

I have no idea, I always thought it is because of it has to be designed to work in hot summer as well as cold winter conditions. Temperature difference can be more than 70 degrees C. Thermal expansion needs to be compensated.

Best wishes, Timo

It may also be that the wires are sagging low because of the long distance between the pylons. To save costs they probably used longer than normal distance crossing the bay.

It may also be just a illusion caused by perspective and the island, where the first pylon is located.

Best wishes, Timo

They are the best looking pylons I have seen ~ A necessary evil. Maybe he could bring some over here! Like. Best wishes, Rosa.

Thank you for your compliments Rosa,

Antti Nurmesniemi was one of the most famous Finnish designers. His best known work is furniture and household items, but he has had a big effect in the urban environment in Finland through his "Landscape towers". More info from these links:

Thanks Karin,

your kind comments are always appreciated. We are finally having real spring also. Temperature is close to 20 degrees C and almost all snow is gone, birds are singing and trees are about to turn green.

Best wishes, Timo

Hi TImo

Goodmorning, That is really wonderful , I love birds singing in trees, unfortunately we have some neighbours who appreciate it less I guess because they always turn on their radio :(

WIsh you a lovely Spring day !

Dear Karin,

I really don't understand why people go out with head phones stuffed into their ears and turn the volume of their IPod to maximum! Even worse are people who turn on their radio so that even neighbours cannot listen to the silence...

Best wishes, Timo

HI TIMO , :) yes I dont understand either , never have an I-pod or similar when outside in the forest or field, this afternoon for example when went for a bicycle tour I heard all the birds singing , a woodpecker pecking a tree etc. so wonderful , further I like silence also indoors at home, I hardly listen to the radio than when am alone, think most people are afraid to listen to their own thoughts perhaps :)) but on the other hand I like to listen to the radio when driving my car to or from work , cheers me up,
