Oh, fantastic shot, Marilyn! Where were you standing when you took the photo? Don't tell me you're a rock climber as well as a great photographer ;)!
I took this at a place you would love, Eve. The highest point is an albatross nesting area.
Visitors can't go there at this time of year, but we enjoyed seeing albatrosses in flight.
On nearby cliffs that are slightly lower but still high above the sea the Stewart Island cormorants nest. The views are spectacular, but I was especially appreciative of my digital ultrazoom Olympus (not a DSLR) for giving me this view!
How lovely, Marilyn. The nature downunder is wonderful.Ciao Daniela
Thank you for the interesting link, Marilyn. I would love to go to New Zealand for about a hundred reasons, the hiking, geology, trout, birds among them and your photos inspire me further!
Thanks, Pam, for your visit and your comments.
Ah, that's what the nests look like! Ours nest in smaller caves, so we can't see what's going on. What a fantastic shot!
Ah, Stewart Island. Such a big place, and hardly any roads.
I was there working, so didn't really have an opportunity to take too many photos.
Especially shots like this.
