William Shakespeare... was a lad of 18 years when he married 26 year old Anne Hathaway.. and who was already bearing his first of three children .. She lived with her family here in this cottage at 'Shottery' near Stratford upon Avon'. The house seen today, is much altered and larger than it would have been in around 1585.. back in Williams' courting days...

It is an idyllic scene, and the kind of place I'd love to live in. I like the inclusion of the overhead branch with berries as a frame and to lend some depth to a beautifully balanced composition. I love it! Theolfa

I agree with Theolfa; a nice little neighborhood in an idyllic setting, complete with good transport links and all! Good setting for an up and coming writer and his lady! Wonderful composition on the picture, Dave! Is the cottage move-in ready & can they finance? lol Peace, Rod

Thanks for your comments here......'Theolfa'...and...'Rod'./.We made our visit at the end of the day..when the crowds had lessened somewhat...hence..the lack of people around../..Along with 'Shakespeares' birthplace, this cottage is one of the major attractions of 'Stratford'..normally this area is swarming with people of all nationalities.with the constant noise of clicking shutters !...Cheers from ..Dj..UK.

I say, This beautiful cottage's being, or not being, wasn't actually a question for me, until now.

Hamlet...Act 3 scene 1,soliloquy..."To gee or not to gee..gat isda kestion, whether is it nogler in da nind....(ventriloquists version)...The question for me how on earth any actor can memorize all those lines..and hundreds more..when doing this stuff...but I guess, that's why they are actors, and I'm not....Cheers Dj..

Your architecture is so amazing in Europe! We are really boring in North America in comparison. I have to make my way out there some day. // Nice picture and a like. // Tim
