Cleulow Cross

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

This headless Anglo-Scandinavian round shaft cross, dating from around the 10th century, stands on top of a mound, thought to be artificial, in the parish of Wincle. It overlooks a crossroads, which may be the reason for its being placed there.
