Hamstone cottages near the entrance to Montacute House, Somerset.
Ah that's interesting, I have only noticed it on the hamstone cottages around here. Tearoom next time, I like a nice scone...Best wishes, Rosa.
Hi Rosa, lovely warm colour of the stonework, and the detail above the windows, this shot would make a nice post card. Cheers John.
Thank you for your nice comments John. Hamstone is very mellow, not unlike cotswold stone. If only that car weren't there! I can do a little cloning but not a whole car!...Best wishes, Rosa.
Nice capture Rosa,,Hamstone!! its the first time i've seen it,lovely colour. Cars can be a problem, always there when you don't want them to be...Have they no thought for us camera addicts;-))))
I know!!....and those darn people as well!!
Hamstone is very mellow and there is still a small quarry up the road, mostly for repairs I think. Most of the quarry has been made into a country park...with a pub in the middle of it. A very popular place. Cheers :-)
just lovely Rosa , the car perfectly matches with the flowers and the sign ;) so not a problem at all! LIke it , cheers K@rin
A very nice photo - L3!
Kind regards, pembo from Kiel
Ah, thank you K@rin ~ I didn't notice that, I feel better about it now!! :-)) Rosa.
Thank you very much for your like and kind comment. Cheers, Rosa.
It's gorgeous! I love it, Rosa. I keep coming back to it and zooming to look at the textures of the roofs and walls, and the mellow colours, the 'face on the white door. I just wish someone would tell the B&B people that their sign is spoiling the lovely flowerbed. Cheers! Theolfa
I am glad you like it, it's a lovely village with 2 pubs. One is a local and the other a little grander looking. If there had not been so many cars parked in the square, I would have taken a photo of that because the cottages are just gorgeous, but it was a Sunday and I suppose they were all home! It is a shame about the signs ~ But nothing's perfect!!..Best wishes, Rosa.
I am pleased that you like it Edward. Cheers, Rosa.
