No I didn't until now. Maybe you are right. I have just been to the ZIL website, but didn't found something there about it. I have been to Russia about 25 times, but have no interest in cars, so I have never noticed what kind og hood ornament they use (if the has any) Re-branding is not new to the cubans anyhow. What old car in Cuba is complete originaly? None I guess.

Yes, an American brand GMC, but it was manufactured in Canada. This and all of the yellow school buses you see in Cuba were donated by the province of Quebec in Canada, to Cuba. You will notice that the "STOP" sign on the right says ARRET. It's a sad story how this donation came to be. There were several children killed in a short period when they walked across the front of the bus after getting off.The drivers could not see if they were clear because of the height and length of the hood.

Thank you for the update. That was a sad story about the children who was killed. Nobody told me that in Cuba (ofcause).
