FANTASTIC Nawitka!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Greetings from Saskatchewan Pam (who is thinking re above bird "stay away from my ponds ;)

Nawitka on October 14, 2007

Hi Pam! Thanks for visiting the heron. He is quite happy here on the west coast, so your pond is safe. I have a whole sequence of him waiting, pouncing and eating this fish. I waited with him for an hour or more before this action happened. The fish went down the hatch with no problems! We wade in this water all the time, I've never seen such a large fish right on the beach like that.

Nice grab - but does he have the proper license?

Nawitka on October 22, 2007

Keith, I was unable to check his paperwork, as he ate the evidence. An Iolar -- he disappeared behind a rock for a moment after catching the fish and I thought he'd lost it! But he came back into view with the fish reversed so it would go down head first. Whew!

Wonderfully animated. I love the fact you got him mid step!

Serendipity indeed.
