The old train station, on Illinois Avenue in Carbondale, Illinois, was built in 1903 and restored in 1996. Today it houses the Carbondale Chamber of Commerce, Carbondale Main Street, and the Carbondale Railroad Museum. The current Amtrak station is next door.

The Carbondale Railroad Museum has been housed inside the Depot since 2004. Located between the building's large meeting room and Main Street's offices, the museum houses artifacts that date back to the late 19th century.
