Those who live here agree with you, Berend and Ah-Pong. But if I was to live here, I'd have to get into a routine. I thought a fortnight might go like this:

Day 1: return paddle in the kayak to South East Bay.

Day 2: return paddle to Four Fathom Bay

Day 3: return paddle to Yncyca Bay

Day 4: explore the forest above all the way to the ridge summit

Day 5: return walk along the shore line as far as you can in one direction

Day 6: return walk the shore line as far as you can in the other direction

Day 7: catch the mail boat to town

Day 8-13: catch up with civilisation in town while you wait a week for the next mailboat run to take you home

Day 14: return home on the mailboat

Then my rotation would start again. But I would be secure in the knowledge that my mussel leases would be growing excellent mussels. When it came to mussel seeding and harvesting times, life would be very busy!

Indeed it is quite idyllic! And a great place for a unwinding holiday - and there are places like this around the Sounds where you can stay.
