Sorry, Bob....

theolfa on May 16, 2011

That's an incredible threatening sky, Steve, with a great sense of movement, and more dramatic because of being B&W. I love it! Theolfa

Steven Stoddart on May 16, 2011

Hi there Theolfa :-) It does have that appearance... but I have a confession to make!

B&W can make a benign scene look vey different... This photo is a case in point. The evening this was taken was still, with plenty of blue sky and great arcs of cloud lit by the setting sun...

Convert it to B&W and make make a few other tweaks and you can end up with a very different story.

Chuffed you liked the results though...

theolfa on May 16, 2011

Well, you learn something every day, Steve, and now I'm going to have to try it, but I'm not sure how to tweak. ;D

Oh yes, oh yes, Steve, you always touch a chord in me with these kinds of images...

Steven Stoddart on May 20, 2011

Hiya Theolfa If you would like some pointers in the art of tweaking, then a post to Marion on this photo might help..

Greetings Dušan - Thank you for your visit and like :-)

Hello Achiper Thanks for stopping by and the like :-)

Hiya Marion :-) Glad you liked this! Thanks everso fo the YS and Like...

As for rain, we could do with some of the wet stuff here... It has been one of the driest Springs on record here with reservoirs well down and crops looking more and more sad as the days go by...

I'll look forward to seeing your latest.. although I have been working all hours in recent days and it has cut into my Pano time :-(

I hope you are well :-) I love your new Icon!

Hello Emanuele - This is one of those times where what you see is not what was there!! it was a beautiful evening... but a tweak here and there turns something benign into something altogether different....

Benign or otherwise, I m glad this appealed :-)

Beautiful B&W SuperSteve!!

I love how my eye follows the curves of the field into the horizon and then up to the curves of the clouds that send me back in the direction from which I came :)))

If I were Bob, I'd be proud to see my song referenced on such a vision! L+YS*

Welcome back Mauro - Always a pleasure to see you have called by..

Hello Mahmoud

I find that many photographs work out much better in black and white... I am grateful for your visits today and for your kind words...

Thank you..

Why are you apologising to Dylan, Steve? This is wonderful, with the wide horizon and the sweeping curves of the sky echoed in the reverse curve of the furrows - all creating a whirlwind :))

I know for a fact that the bard is, at this very moment, putting his quill to the stave, and that he's using this title. Prepare for a concert of epic proportions at Stowmarket WI meeting rooms - it'll be a sell out! Slices of Victoria Sandwich will be consumed leaving the lips gently encrusted with caster sugar, and the hips forever widening; the rivers will run in raspberry jam, and Jerusalem will be ousted from pole position. Oh yes - the time's they are a-changin' ;))

Sincerely yours, Mistress Myddleton

Steven Stoddart on June 17, 2011

OH YEAH, OH YEAH! 'Tis always a pleasure to be quilled by yon Mistress Mydleton : -)

Rasberry jam and Birds Nest hats atop blue-rinses aside, I thought it best to at least give the nod to bard.... just in case the wrinkly ol' sod decided to chuck an expensive lawyer at me...

I did not realise you were so well versed in the ways of the WI! Are you a member? IS there a birds nest hat atop your bonce as we speak?? I am sure your coiffure looks delightful with that blue tinge...

On to the more mundane, I am pleased this B&W effort has met with your approval... though I am now a little concerned about the effect raspberry jam is having on your hips....
