Interesting place. LIKE Alina
I found the whole mussel farming operation most interesting, Alina. The mussels grow while attached to the vertical ropes suspended in the water. It is a growing and appears to be a very profitable industry.
Mussel! WOW! LIKE
I am sure you do, Jeff. I do too.
Amazing! This is the first time I've seen it. Greetings, nguyentran
Hi nguyentran. I am pleased that you find this interesting. The vertical ropes are seeded with mussels and they grow to harvest size in about 18 months.
Beautiful colours and composition, Ian - and of course interesting!
This isn't a GE image, but it really is one of the strongest memories one comes away with after sailing the Sounds. The mussel leases abound in certtain parts of the Sounds and the black floats seem ubiquitous. The clear clean water is also important to their production, so yes I had to upload one of these geometric patterns.
