Very beautiful picture. LIKE.
Thankyou for the great compliment.
Very interesting, looks like the rear turret of a B-24 Liberator..
Hi GG, Is actualy the nose turrent on the B-24.
My mom use to build these back in the day and is fixing to turn 88. Thanks for commenting!
Ha!, right plane... wrong end..! I bet these planes bring back memories for your mum. My mum had to parachute out of some rubbish Russian Illusion bomber back in the 50's... They were tough back then!
Yes they do. This one came from the plant where she worked. when we took the picture it was the only one in the world in flying condition. Just this last year another group in Dallas Texas got another one up and running, so now there are two.
If you have time, Go to Collingsfoundation.org
Click on aircraft collection
Then click B-24 on the left
Then click the history at the top of the page.
It is fascinating how this plane journied to where it is now. I tried to copy a link directly to the article for you, but wasn't able to get it to cooperate with me.
Have a good day mate, henry.
