Koh Samui, Bull in green paradise (Water Buffallo-out of his element)

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

Fortunately, there was a fence between us. I have seen many buffaloes in Laos, but not that many in Thailand.

I have eaten Buffalo Curry in Laos. Definitely not recommended.

It was probably very old, so my jaws were sore from chewing and chewing and chewing!

This property was bought to be developed for a large resort. The whole mountain side was cleared from jungle bush, palm trees planted and road to nowhere build. Than, the foreign developer was cheated out of his money and project was stopped.

It's called a water buffalo, Tomas.

I should congratulate you on this. You were very lucky to see at least one in Thailand. Farmers have switched to using very expensive and polluting machinery and ended up in debts.

Hello Suzi, Wijarn and ah-p☺ng, thanks for all Like.

I have seen a lot of buffalo in Laos along the Mekong River. And also there, I have seen it quite often on the Menu. It is a tough meat!!

Greeting, Tomas

Hello Tomas!

Amazingly interesting picture! L.

All the best, Irina

These buffalos were in huge fenced area full of lush palm trees on a hill overlooking the ocean.

One investor got a great idea to build a wonderful resort on this property. But his partner had even better idea and just took his money and run.

People climb the hill, the buffalo is happy- HAPPY END

Hey GG, Not sure if they make good pets. They also like it toasty.

Maybe in Carolina, but definitely not near Perry Sound!

To recall you more memories from home, Thailand (and Asia generally), I recommend you to download this album: Vykopávky by Sklep.

Special attention to songs "Vietnamská" (..můj bůvolek pěkně oře...) and "Stovky snopů". :))

I hope this is your cup of tea.

Tomros on June 16, 2011

It actually does sound like my cup of tea...
