Koh Samui, BoPhut (or Big Budha) Beach

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

The rain stopped for few hours, so I ventured on a beach walk. People were collecting the stuff, which the rain swept onto the beaches and sea from the hills.

This beach area belongs to small empty resort across the road.

The flooding forced most tourist to flee, and the ones, who were trapped on the island, were not very happy. I talked to few on the way to Bangkok, who were on the beach only once during their stay and ate canned food meals, as the restaurants had to close. (no electricity, no ice)

Hello Guiseppe, David, Lala, Gosia, Heinz Cristian, and John, thanks for your interest in my new upload and like.

David, I do not think that this island was affected by 2004 tsunami.

Cristian, yes perfect image for Canadian winters! but, imagine that there were no guests in this relatively resort at all!

Greetings, Tomas

Hello Tomas, Excellent photo. Nice place. Like

Koh Samui is not related to the tsunami because it is located in the Gulf of Thailand. The tsunami occurred on the Andaman Sea, located west of Thailand

Greetings from Thailand.

Do not worry about finding this photo in the contest! I TRIED TO FIND MY OWN PHOTOS and did succeed! Wijarn, I just tried to answer David question. Koh Samui is quite a distance from Phuket.
