This was the setting for a german film set in world war 2. They didn't have to do much to make it realistic and were here filming for a week. Ironically most of Stockton (me included) didn't even notice the difference.

Looks like South Bank and Grangetown. The two places I had my childhood in. Such fond memories... Yeah, right. I lived in a house on Uverdale Road in South Bank that was built before the war. The air raid sirens would go off to make the shift for British Steel, and it was so loud when you live right near it. And with all the war movies I grew up on, I was always scared of that damn siren.

No jest - well not quite a shopping centre however Aldi are using the adjacent land for a supermarket.
