Greetings Berend,

These two arms of Lake Rotoiti are West Bay and Kerr Bay, the main lake extending another 6kms to the south. The road we explored is the access road for the skifield on Mt Roberts. From this vantage point one turns to the NW and looks down the valley of the Buller Valley which is sourced from this lake. That too is a beuatiful panorama.

Thnak you, Simona. I enjoyed a wonderful walk with my wife along the far shore of this lake, amidst the beech forest. Then after spending time among the birdlife, we drove up this mountain, its summit areas becoming a skifield in winter. The views were excellent, and we enjoyed watching the changing light illuminating the landscape as the clouds and then a storm scudded across the sky.

Warmest regards, Simona.
