Forty years ago I would visit my aunt who was a nun @ the Monastery of the Visition and this is exactly what I remember of the view from the convent. I was about 5 years old then...thanks for refreshing my memory:)

I grew up in Riverdale in the 1960's and early 1970's. It was a magical place for a young person to grow up. I am now living in Florida. But, enjoy getting on Google to look at the old neighborhood. Riverdale is still beautiful. Thankyou for the photo. Melinda Ortega

Yo !

I'm doing a play for our Congregation of Jewish and Non Jewish folk on Purim ( from the book of Esther ). I am the narrator and I always go back to my earlier days in Riverdale for inspiration. Our play is going to be borrowed from memories of 'hanging out' on Johnson Avenue near Angelo's Pizzaria ( 1960's ). It'll be 'boss', as we used to say back then. One of these days I hope to go back to Riverdale to visit. As far as I can tell by the pictures, it hasn't changed that much.
