People are trying to move away from downtown Birmingham just being a place where people work. I think this picture demonstrates community because they are trying to build a place for people to live. Why aren’t there that many houses downtown?

In my and probably others’ opinions, Birmingham is just more commercial than residential. Birmingham is just seen as a downtown area. People’s perspectives on Birmingham are that it is a place to commute to for their job and commute out of to go to their home. Most people would like to live on the outskirts of the city because it can offer them many things that the inner city cannot. For example, families in the inner-city can’t have outdoor pets, pools, gardens, lots of land/open space, or live in a subdivision. People want things that living in the city can’t offer them so they want to live in the suburbs.
