This trash can has “Keep Birmingham Beautiful Commisssion” written on the side. This is symbolic because it is telling someone what to do. When I see a trash can, I know to throw my trash. What else is symbolic about downtown?

My picture is a mural of an industry that made Birmingham boom. It is a painting of the Coca-cola symbol. A representation of something that bettered/betters a place can be symbolic. Yours is symbolic because it keeps the world clean. Mine is symbolic because it made Birmingham an industrial city.

Parks are symbolic in downtown because they show that we want to make Birmingham more of a community. We want people to get together in one place and feel safe about it with plenty of watchful eyes around.
