Hello Marlene and Derek - kinda looks like a bald eagle with a sunset reflecting off it's plumage ! I fear my quest for the bald eagle has turned into a Wile E. Coyote / Roadrunner scenario. Bleep - bleep !

Thank you very much Dianne - it helps to have extreme telephoto lenses ! A lot of my bird images are tightly cropped to emphasize the detail and reduce file size . Gotta give most of the credit to the birds !

Howdy Waldo! Is this feller a Western Tanager? I've been searchin for him, he reminds me of some little yellow birdies I've been seein round here. Super capture!!

I'm keepin him cuz he's so gosh darn purdy!

Correctly identified GG this is the male , the females don't have the orange head - they hang out in thickets near open meadows and eat bugs and berries !
