Hi Snomann. Thanks for putting these images on the site, personally I think they are great.

Snemann on January 23, 2007

Thanks, both. It is one of my own favourites, I hve to admit. It is satisfying to show off norwegian nature here, but a humbling experince to see so many great photos from around the globe.

This is tremendous!

This picture of yours is amazing! Very envy-making. :)

Oh, and thanks for your comments on my pictures! Yes, they are digitally touched up - not much though (monochromed, coloured, curves tweaked a little bit).

Snemann on January 24, 2007

thanks. You seem to have found a way to preserve more nuances to your monochrome pictures, than I manage to, I often find that the contrasts are too high afterwards, and that details are lost in the shaded areas. But then I only use freeware like Photofiltre and Picasa. Photoshop just seems too expensive.

I recommed the GIMP - it's completely free and has lots and lots and LOTS of features. http://www.gimp.org/ Bit tricky to get a hang of at first, but there's good tutorials on the website. Having said that I use Paintshop Pro, but try to use it as little as possible!

WOW !!! Nothing to add... beautiful picture !!! My congrats !!!

I would also recommend the GIMP - give it a go, it won't cost you anything! If your camera takes RAW images, you will also need ufraw installed. I use both the GIMP and Photoshop Elements; I find Elements easier to use and it is well supported by most photo magazines with tutorials and plug-ins.

Snemann on January 25, 2007

I will give GIMP a try. Thanks for the tip. I have added an autumn version of this picture now - but I like the green one better, I must say.

Stunning picture. You must be very proud!

Simply beautiful! By the way, if you shoot in raw, you may try Adobe's Lightroom for adjustment and conversion.

Thanks for the comment. I especially enjoy your photos with the tag "art". They are wonderful! The common eye would have looked past those photo opportunities.

Snemann on February 16, 2007

Quite often I myself do not se these details before seeing the picture on the screen, and then I start cropping and adjusting. This picture actually is part of a larger, and quite straigtforward picture of a field and some trees, but the lines and curves caught my eye, luckily.

The GIMP is amazing. My uncle uses it a lot. This is indeed a great photo. Shows how great Norway really is. Thanks for the picture Snemann.
