Very nice picture Ian. Nice all the different colours in the fields. Greetings Berend

I'm always impressed by the intensity of land use in Asia, Berend, and most of the coastal areas of Java are very very intensively used.

Greetings, Ian.

Beautiful carpet in all shades of green, but intensely used indeed..... a geographer's picture :)

A geographer's picture it is indeed, Maja. But artists and travellers and dreamers probably will enjoy it also.

Every little parcel of colour has a story to tell of how it came to be so small. Every variant colour tells of a farmer's decision, that will be steeped in tradition and only occasionally touched by innovation.

And the different zones are related to the others by the movement of people, daily and seasonally.

Love Indonesia.

Wherever I fly in Indonesia the landscapes below fascinate me, with their variety, intensity and patterns. It doesn't matter whether it is on the coast, an island in the sea, or among the mountains, it is always special. My struggle is that there are so many elements that I do not easily recognise. For example, I do not know the specific uses of each of the near coastal ponds in this image.

Thanks again for the Ah-Pong ☆ award.

Warm regards,
