A big 'Thank you' to the driver for his help in setting this one up. Best Wishes. Peter
Peep ~ peep said Thomas ~ What a rare shot Peter and a like from me ~
Hi Nick, Thank you for looking, and for the 'like'. It would have been nicer if we could have waited for Thomas to come back, and photograph him approaching, but the 'Controller' said that #44422 had to go to the other end of the station, and then take the train on to Peterborough.
Love#2 the look down the engine you are on, Peter. The engineer's perspective - an enviable & fantastic vantage point!
This would be my favorite view of "Thomas" though ;)
best wishes, stacy
Thank you for the visit, and the like!
It is a genuine picture, not a photoshop composite, and yes, it was taken through the firemans front window. I did try a large number of pictures from here as Thomas was leaving, but a lot were obscured by smoke from one or both of the engines. Maybe one day I'll do a bit better.
i hope you didn't missinterpret something i said, Peter. i know it's real :)...my comment about thomas was my way of saying that i was not a fan and prefererd the hint of "him" :)
highest regards, stacy
Very well picture!!!!!
Best greetings. GGR
Hi Stacy & Gezginruh,
Again thank you both for looking!
Stacy, no worries, my comment was to make a comparison to this one, which anyone who knows about railways will immdeiately see through. As for Thomas, well, the little ones love him, and it gets them interested in railways, and gives parents a chance to take their kids somewhere, so there is a bit of something there, but as you say, not a massive interest!
Gezginruh, maybe you could tell us about Thomas in Turkey!
