Fantastic picture and detail. I bought a bird book recently from a charity shop with great pictures in, primarily because I wasn't sure of the difference between the rook, crow and raven so this picture is of great interest to me. Like. :-))
Hi Rosa My bird bible is an old Readers Digest really thick book covering british birds. Its about 40 years old and falling to bits! The RSPB website is good for info, and even has bird calls.
The Rook has a bald face and blueish tinge to its feathers. A crow (carrion crow) has a stouter bill with more feathers and it has a greenish tinge. They are both the same size wheres a raven is like a crow but much larger. A Jackdaw and Magpie are the crows cousins!
Thanks Kenny, the book I got from charity shop is a Readers Digest, a great book. Best regards, Rosa.
Nice shot! What a great bird.
Best wishes from the USA,
