Standing in the sunshine in a very benign rural setting one seems so small and vulnerable when one looks up at the glacier above. It seems to fall from the clouds tumbling down the steep rocky slopes, threatening all below, and the benign evaporates. Awesome stuff, really!

Thank you Paulo. I enjoyed the contrasts between:

the low flat terrain and the rugged high relief of the mountains,

the different land uses, and

the threatening glacier and the still waters of the kettle lakes on the plain, and

the bright sunshine and clear skies of the plain with the threatening heavy weather around the mountains.

Greetings from Australia to Brazil,

Greetings Mahmood.

Thank you for your visit and appreciation. This makes me think of the Elbruz mountains in your country.

Kind regards,

O, you like it, Jeff. I found this view had a real imapct on me, but I hesitated to upload it because it was a bit too contrasty!. So I am pleased that you have enjoyed it.

Thank you Antoni. As I explored the area, I was hoping that the clouds would somehow lift or that the sunlight would be low enough to illiminate the slopes and the glacier, but then I realised how ominous that steep glacier was when the light was threatening too.

Kind regards,

I am sure that you are very familiar with the abrupt change from the high plains to the steep fold mountains just like this in Argentina, Toto. It sure gives me joy to be able to exchange landscapes with you, and to enjoy your photography too. I hope there is a time when we can do so travelling together.
