Wertheim - Germany

I was stationed in Wertheim from 1961 to 1964. My wife and I lived with the Weiss family in Kreuzwertheim , across the street from the Mein River. Herr Weiss worked in the glass factory down river, and rode his bike to work and back every day; come rain or shine. Every fall, Herr Weiss and his neighbor would get together to make a wonderful wurst. It was the best I have ever tasted. It was a wonderful place to be, I have many great memories if Wertheim on Mein. James C. Parker

I was stationed in Wertheim from November 1968 to June 1971. I worked in Headquarters HHB 72nd Artillery Group in the S-3 office.

Hi, just reliving old memories...was in the 536th MP Co. around '61-62 in Wurzburg & Wertheim...still remember that gorgeous view of Wertheim as you drove up the hill to the barracks...I wonder if the old Turm (our drinking hole)is still standing half way up, Pete.

The Old Turm was still there when I left there in 1969. It had been placed off limits. I was an MP there 1968-69. It was the 793rd. I was also in Wurzburg for a few months also. Wondeful memories Tom teturner@comcast.net
