Hazrat sultan Bahu
Hazrat Sultan Bahu Belonged to the Qaderi Order of Sufis and is know by the title of SULTAN UL ARFEEN (King of the Gnostics). He is acknowledged as one of the most prominent Sufi poets of the Punjab and India. Sultan Bahu was born in 1629 in SHORKOT. His mother’s name was bibi rasti. She was known as an extremely pious soul. Once she had a dream, in which she was told that she would have a son whom she should name Bahu. In the dream she was also told that the child would be very pious and become a great Sufi saint. He would be a walliullah (Friend of the God) by birth. When he becomes little bit older, bibi Rasti asked him to go and search for someone to be his living spiritual master. He replied with great respect to his mother,” You are my spiritual master. I don’t need to find any other “. He bowed his head before her. She become his first teacher but refused to perform the duty of a spiritual which was not performed by Hazrat bibi FATIMA (S.A), the daughter of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). Somehow, informally his mother was the first teacher of Sultan Bahu but she asked him to find a living spiritual guide. Hazrat Sultan Bahu stated that Allah almighty had rewarded him with llm a laduni (inspired knowledge) and therefore, he did not have any desire for a formal education. At the age of thirty, Hazrat Sultan Bahu saw a vision in which he become a disciple of Hazrat sheikh Abdul qadir jilani (RA). Sultan sahib visited various sheikhs but finally took a bait on the hand of syed Abdul rahman Qaderi. Sultan Bahu said in his a spiritual knowledge in the form of zakat for the wealth of spiritual knowledge he had received. He said that he was unable to find such seeker of Allah in his lifetime.Translate
