Je vous invite dans le groupe Transport Public
Amitié de France,
Amitié de France,
A warm welcome to you all, I start by offering my humble apologies for my late responses...Perhaps I will never get to answer your many precious comments! but I will persevere!
Ian Stehbens~~It's a privilege to share these photos with you Ian, I'm thankful for your appreciation!
Theolfa~~~Me too Theolfa, the sight sound and smell of em' simply stimulates all those nostalgic feelings and memories too..I remember with disdain, the sudden demise of our railway system under the axe of Beeching. We had four separate lines into the old town..servicing a huge rural community..many of them depended on the railways, especially during the winter months when their homes were cut off from the outside world by weeks of sub-zero temperatures and deep snow. Now there is only a single track running four trains each way per day..The bus service is infrequent, expensive and unreliable..Most of those living in the villages, on low wages, struggle to afford personal transport, especially with the extremely high cost of fuel..
studio4t1~~~~~You are more than welcome Tone, I like to divert those interested in steam trains to my friends galleries!
sabukeralam~~~Thanks for your good comment Sabu :) I'll check your blog out some time!
Roger-11~~~~The translation was fine Roger..I liked your definition of iron horses but which one should I back! :))
G. Romanini~~~Greetings Gilvan :) These old timers certainly do work hard, many of them are in service, pulling many tonnes of railway carriages every day during the season..They travel a few thousand kilometres each year! They are serviced by a skilled team of engineers who are able to repair and re-furbish any part of the locomotive. All the rolling stock, rail-road and signalling system is kept in good order by an enthusiastic band of volunteers..They receive skilled training to ensure all work is done to a high standard..Safety being of prime importance.
Mircea_RAICU~~~I commend your perseverance and success in finding this shot in the contest, thank you ;))
brian01~~~~Greetings Brian...If, like me, as a youngster, I was fascinated by the complexity of the running gear, linkages and driving rods and general appearance of steam locos..The miniature versions made by Hornby Dublo were a boys ultimate toy! I had several engines, lots of rolling stock, yards of lines, crossings, points, signals, stations etc..I spent most of my winter free time playing with the trains. It kept me fully entertained :) Happy days!
Landry Lachèvre~~~I greet you warmly Landry ;)~~~~I may already have enrolled for this group..if not, I will pleased to add my photos! Thanks for the invite!
_ To you all, I express my sincere gratitude for your visits, precious comments, your endorsements, likes, especially the Y*'s and for taking the time to look!_
Kind regards :)
