It was good that our driver had a 4 x 4. What you see in the foreground is a nice though narrow blacktop ("sealed") road, but it certainly wasn't all like that, as you may be able to see at the center on the right-hand side! Thanks for your visit. Marilyn

There are not many roads in the mountains, but they need some ways to get across. Few of the roads in the interior are tarmac. I think they had put the surface on a short section of this one because it was so steep and had such extreme curves. A dirt road might easily wash away!
