Sunset on Abbey Pond

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

Unable to resist the temptation of grabbing another Abbey sunset, I hopped over the boundary wall (trespassed) with all my gear and hurriedly set up the tripod next to several other geeks who were already there..With a few moments of me taking this shot, the other geeks spoiled my view when they moved towards the pond to capture the full reflection..Ah well, you cant win em' all!

Hiya Jim - What a cracking shot of Whitby Abbey... A YS from me!

Is that pond a permanent feature?

Cheers

Steve

Ah, Jim. This is the Axota I've been missing. These latest shots are brilliant! Non of that over worked, hard on the eye, HDR crap. These are like your first half of the gallery. Great stuff. Comment the rest later.

Steve Stoddart~~~The old abbey is done to death and I generally avoid taking photos of it, but it looked so photogenic I could not resist one more shot! The Abbey pond, a feature from its earliest days, was reinstated a few years ago by English Heritage. Many thanks for your appreciation Steve ;)

Hi Jim,

Probably one of the best pictures of the Abbey I have seen for a long while. The balance of the stone work, and that little pool of water make a great result. I like it!

Best Wishes peter
