Hmmm. A simple footbridge. I wonder how boats get in and out of the canals?

Good morning Bonnie Lad - I like your new avatar :)

I posted this one to show the structure of the bridge. If you enlarge it x2, you may find Adrian marching his way to the canal bank on the right to sit is the sun while I was fiddling around here :))

Thank you dear Jac & Willy. We found the mechanics of this bridge very interesting, having never seen a bridge that wound up like this one. And we were lucky to see it opening :)

Thanks Fai. Personally I think the bridge is over-exposed on the walkway, which was made of wood. The whole bridge wound up to allow larger boats to sail in and out of the larger canal to the smaller one. An interesting bit of engineering we thought :)

Cheers, Amelia

Thank you dear Eva. Can you see how the bridge opens, just by rolling the wires up onto the 2 metal pillars? It was interesting to watch it working :)

Greetings to you wherever you are at the moment, Amelia
