Precioso fresco que recuerda épocas pasadas en que el cristianismo era la fe mayoritaria entre los habitantes de Anatolia. Greetings from Spain.

Hello Joaquín Vilas,
Thanks for the visit and comment. I am not very good in Spanish and this is why I'm going to answer to you in English, which I assume you will understand.
Yes, you are right. This fresco (like all other in my collection tagged with TURKEY) was painted inside the cave-church made by men's hands. Those caves were made by Christian population of Anatolia, that were forced to leave their original homes by invaders coming from far Asia. The area where they made those caves is very inhospitable, with no arable land, at the landscape that looks more like you are on the Moon but the Earth.
If you get a chance to visit Turkey, you should definitely visit this unique and amazing place.
Greetings from Belgrade, Serbia. Miša

I visited some of these cave-churches in my touristic trip to the Capadocia region in Turkey some years ago. I liked very much the old christian monuments in this area and the original landscape, like "the moon", as you said. And I remembered the old commumities born by the predication of the Apostle Paul at the beginning of Cristianity.
Maybe you must create the tag "church" for photos like this. I have "iglesia" panoramio.com/user/1256327/tags/iglesia
Greetings from La Coruña, in NW Spain.

First of all Joaquín thanks for the detailed comment and link to your iglesia tagged shots.
I had the same idea when I started to upload my shots to Panoramio. I am from the country that has several main religious groups, and I myself am from the family that practice Orthodox Christianity. It was quite normal to tag the churches I show with tag Church(es).
Then I came to the point how to tag uploaded shots showing mosques and other religious objects. Whether I should do it for every group like for example: Mosque(s), Synagogue(s), Temples, etc? I know the difference between them, and if I was so picky, I would have to make tags also for each main Christian group. This is why I have finally decided to tag all kind of religious object with single phrase Places of worship.
I guess you will understand my reasons for so. Greetings for you and for beautiful place of La Coruña, from Belgrade, Serbia. Miša

Thank you very much for your explanations. I understand your reasons for the tags you have at Panoramio. Very interesting conversation about photos and religious places.
You have the yellow star and you are at my favorites.
