Hi Peter!I have one question.Did You travel all this mountains by foot?

pedrocut on June 12, 2011

Hi Diggory

This area of England is called the Lake District and many people that go there are captivated and drawn back time after time. It has inspired many artists, writers and poets including Wordsworth and Coleridge.

The only real way to travel here is by foot and I have walked over 200 miles there.

Nowadays I think I could climb to the tops, but the old knee would not be able to get me back down!

Best wishes from England Peter

Excellent photo Peter, thank you for sharing! I was on the other side only for a short time. You are so right in telling above, that people are captivated by the special charm of this region. I so much prefer those more quiet places in the hills to the busy places around Windermere. Warm regards, May

Hi May

Yes the places such as Windemere become honeypots, even int he winter. The Northern Fells, and the Lakes such as Ennerdale and Wastwater have their own enchantment!

Best wishes Peter
