Love it. Amazing little bird and great detail captured. regards Derek
Good photography and beautiful colors
Best wishes from Taiwan,Qianlong
Howdy Derek - had never photographed one of these before this spring - tiny little birds , and friendly - the minimum focal length on telephoto lenses presents a problem when you get too close to the subject - got some extension tubes to test out to solve that problem !
Hello Qianlong - just photographing birds in the back yard between rain downpours !
AWW he is really sweet Waldo!
Well captured! I like him!
He really was a nice little bird GG - he kept hopping up to me and I would have to move the tripod back to get his photo - he actually hopped up onto my shoe at one point !
Colorful capture of the natural treasure.
It seems that you used a teleconverter with the 400mm f/5.6 lens.
Sincere greetings from Taiwan.
Thank you kindly 林傑安(Enson) - I used a 1.4X teleconverter and 600mm f/4.0 lense for this shot !
What a little beauty! I've never seen one of these before. And he visits right in your own backyard?! I'm coming over! :D. Cheers, pear.
First time I had ever seen one pear - four of them stayed around for 2 days , then moved on . My yard consists of 2.7 acres with seventy 20 year old trees ( pines , spruces , poplar , aspens , ash , crabapple ) and numerous shrubs ( privet , currant , cherry , plum , caragana ) and countless flowers - the 4 adjoining neighbors yards are the same way so I kinda live in a wildlife sanctuary !
Think I should visit this right away next week it might be eaten by the cat in the previous upload. That would be such a shame for this little guy is so wonderful.
Happy flight, Erik
Hello Erik van den Ham - there is no right or wrong in Nature - there are only consequences !
Lovely - very sharp!
Hello Neil8kenhead - the big telephoto is a very sharp lense - been testing the macro extension tubes and they can reduce the minimum focus distance from 18 feet to 12 feet so now I can get closer to the subject - the lense , however , does not focus to infinity with the extension tube , but it only takes a second to remove it so it's not a problem .
