This is from circa 197?, before canal restoration. Its clearly a swing bridge between Devizes and Bradford. But which one?

i think it is seend park swing bridge (bridge number 155)

Thanks very much. Seend is a 7 post design and this is 8 post. The Seend bridge may have been replaced but this might be Semmington where I will move the marker to.

I like your pub photo by the way!

This looks like Semington swing bridge, numbered 161. The area has been cleaned up a lot since this photo was taken.

Thanks Glam ! I think I will leave the marker where it is then, because I reckon I have it about right.

Many thanks.

Whoops - sorry to chime in at this time, but there a far too many trees for the Semington bridge. Seems like a few miles to the east, perhaps near Bishops Cannimgs?

What about in the 1970s? I understand it has been spruced a bit recently. Is there a bridge at Bishop Cannings?

All help, always welcome. Greeting from North Carolina

Its over 30 years ago, but my recollection is that we walked from Devizes to Bradford on Avon (with tents of course) alongside a delapidated and unloved canal. Of course it has been much restored in the last 30 years.

So, the bridge is (I think) between Devizes and Bradford. Thank you Terotechnica.

This is the Swing-bridge on Kennet and Avon canal half a mile west of Semington village
