Oh! I'd skipped over this! Serene and elegant--really quite wonderful! I'd like an explanation, however: why is there the edge of the sand-coloured sand, and then the grey?

Thank you Marilyn! The more yellow part is the way it is because of the way the relatively low sun illuminates the sand which is under the surface, using the water as a reflector directing the light to the sea floor in a different way than the light illuminates the part out of the water,... I guess. I'm not sure really. But that was anyway one of the things that caught my attention :)

Thanks for the explanation, Roger. I can believe that--and I'm not go be there to prove you wrong. Again, it's a lovely photo.

Thank you! To be honest, my explanation is just what I believe happend. I'm by all means not sure :) The sun was relative low with light coming in from the left, so the part above the water, sloping towards the water did not reflect much I guess. Now and then it feels like a I have photographed every scenery from this place, and at every angle. Then it's a bit refreshing to try something new like isolating bits and pieces in nature like this to hrm ... at least try to make an artistic approach :)

Remarkable photo. The clump of seaweed looks like a south seas island in the thumbnail image and the satellite image on the right looks like that also!

Thank you An :) Yes, the area is great with all the beaches. It's my fake south seas hideaway :) I've seen in several english photomags that there are some real great places along the coastline of Ireland too, if my memory serves me well!

All that beautiful sand... I am glad you composed it to show both the wet and the 'dry' sand. Not only the colour, but texture differs from the treatment of the light. Amazing!

I'm really glad when viewers see what made me make the picture. It's amazing how low light can play the surface and little ripples of the water :)

Breathtaking Roger, both in the thumbnail of "the island", and in the full view of wave patterns, sand patterns and seaweed. Thank you!
Hilsen, Amelia
