Sigh on June 15, 2011

Get your idea from the latest issue of PhotoPlus? It's a cracking shot, pal. I enjoy that the main subject of the image doesn't dominate by being in the middle.

Kenny Wharton on June 15, 2011

PhotoPlus - possibly!

I had a rare day to myself after dropping the wife off in the centre of Newcastle. I had looked at the scenery on GE and planned a few lighthouse shots. I was lucky with the weather and didn't have to fake any blue skies! Having most of the day gave me time to slow down and think about my shots. This one is using the rule of thirds. I had about an hour to get it right before the tide came in!!!

Great shot, I love the sky. Guess I wont get the prize for spotting the person though...can't see one!!

Neil Grimwood on June 16, 2011

Its a Bobby Dazzler Kenny!! very nicely put together. A day to yourself!! lucky you, hope it didn't cost you too much;-))

Do i detect visible forearms and naked legs below the knee???? not saying where though.

Rosalyn Hilborne on June 16, 2011

Where Neil?? I'm blowed if I can see it...but I'm picking up new glasses tomorrow, so....I'll be back :-)

Neil Grimwood on June 16, 2011

Aha, its a secret Rosa;-)) i'm not even sure if i'm right anyway, lets see if your new specs work.

Rosalyn Hilborne on June 19, 2011

Got the specs - I think I can see the knees but it could just be rock!! Bottom left quarter?

Liam Wolff on June 21, 2011

Can't find a single person in this photo, Kenny! So I'll have to assume the person is behind the lens ;)

Wonderful photo. Very well done! :D

Warmest wishes, Liam

Kenny Wharton on June 21, 2011

Sorry Rosa there is nobody there. I give my photographs odd titles to make them more appealing when people scan the blue squares on GE. There were loads with the title "St Marys Lighthouse". Hope you are not too cross :0(

Kenny Wharton on June 21, 2011

Hi Liam, glad you liked the shot. I visit another website and uploaded this shot and received several suggestions on how to improve it. One was straighten the lighthouse - it looks upright to me!

Sigh on June 22, 2011

You twat! I spent half an hour zoomed in going side to side, over and over! Great idea! I'll get my own back one day, you photo villain, you.

I think the photo is perfect, I could quite easily see this in a professional gallery!

Rosalyn Hilborne on June 22, 2011

:-))))....what Sigh said!!! I forgive you!!

Neil Grimwood on June 22, 2011

So did i Si, i was sure i spotted a figure. The walkway that slopes up to the right, directly between and below the fourth and fifth upright. It resembles a figure wearing a hat and bending forward, sat on the rocks between the white wall and the concrete.

You are a bugger Kenny;-)) but at least it kept us entertained looking round.

Beautiful lighthouse view Kenny! I'm totally digging that blue sky as well.. sure hope it comes to visit us soon! Another day of rain here in a week full of it... am fed up! I'm quite busy at the moment though... giggling at everyone searching for the person :)))) you're a riot Kenny! Smiles, GG:)

Rosalyn Hilborne on June 23, 2011

Might have kept us entertained Neil, but I nearly took my glasses back!!!

David Brown Photogra… on June 24, 2011

I got new glasses last week Kenny and can definitely see a bloke in Khaki shorts on his back, with his shirt off and his feet planted squarely on a rock (hence his knees are up).

He's just below the tree line, left of the houses!

However, you will be reassured to know I still kept the old pair.

Theolfa on June 30, 2011

He's hiding in the 'bomb shelter' thingamajig. I can see the car that he parked, blocking the road. It's a lovely scene, Kenny, I've never been close to a lighthouse, bit you make it look very attractive. Love it! Theolfa
