Wonderful orchid. Lovely shot. Like it.

Is this growing wild Peter? What a find! Beautiful details on both the flower and the stem, with just a hint of a spider thread.

We certainly wouldn't come across these in Norway - well Rogaland anyway!

Hilsen fra Norge, Amelia

wundervoll deine Frauenschuh, lieber Peter!

Thanks for your lovely praise dear Phyllis I'm happy you like it :), Peter

Thank you Mir it's one of the true gems of the European forests. Best wishes, Peter

Yes this is a truely wild population dear Amelia A special moment to witness such display of nature's best. In Norway you will only find it around Trondheim at the coast otherwise it's more common in eastern Norway along the Swedish border all along it from the south to the north (Finnmarken). Peter

Danke dir herzlich liebe Ellen Ist schön zu wissen dass du auch solche Blüte in freier Wildbahn gesehen hast umärmel, Peter

Tack så mycket kära Agneta..Bästa hälsningar ifrån Köpenhamn, Peter

I know Lady's slipper orchids can be found in the UK Peter, but they are very rare, and the sites are kept a secret :)

Yes the same here too Amelia the traditional place here you have 24 specimens behind a fence..:), Peter

Very beautiful! I only once saw one in our area- it was in the paper and they had people watching over the plant.
